The SELFCHECK Pregnancy Blood Test is a pregnancy test that uses a blood sample instead of urine to help you find out whether you may be pregnant.
Blood tests can be more reliable than urine tests for showing that you are pregnant and, for this reason, are sometimes used in hospital labs to confirm a urine pregnancy test. Unlike urine pregnancy tests, you can use a blood test at any time of the day and are unaffected by dilution from drinks. Because of this, you may get a positive result with the new SELFCHECK pregnancy blood test before you would with a urine test.
The SELFCHECK Pregnancy Blood Test is a simple finger prick blood test used to detect the pregnancy hormone hCG in blood rather than urine. Whenever using an early pregnancy test, you should be aware that not all pregnancies will proceed to term, and it is not uncommon for a positive result to become negative early on in pregnancy.
The same device provided with your SELFCHECK test is also used in hospitals.
Contains 1 test.

We want you to be aware that no biomarker, even when checked by your hospital lab, is 100% perfect at diagnosing a specific medical condition. Because of this, a false positive result may cause unnecessary worry and further investigations, whilst a false negative result may give you peace of mind, when actually there may be an underlying condition that requires treatment. Rather than purchasing a self-test kit, you may wish to speak with your NHS GP first, who can arrange for tests if needed.
Make sure that you have considered what a result will mean to you before deciding to test. At SELFCHECK, you can also speak with our health check experts if you need help to use your test or interpret your results.
